Anti-Mamta Banerjee
Dear Ms Baneerjee,
People of Kolkata want change -
Guess what, this is within your range -
they want you out of the state.
We will grant you one last dharna to the gate.
Get your singur goons to walk one last march,
Lets honor one last bandh for the last matriarch,
Kolkata would be relieved believe me,
you ve been such a shame people grieve, believe me,
Do yourself a favor, try applying for a job in Kolkata,
why don't you register your glamorous bio-data,
see if you get the common man's point of view,
why don't you just stand in the mile long queue?
Just when you retire home after a hard days work-out,
you are greeted with a regular blackout,
please don't raise a comment or lament,
Kolkatans are used to this predicament,
So I beg you, give this state a chance,
wake up from your blind trance,
Listen to what people say "o mata",
else you'll be the one to say TATA !
People of WB

IPL 2 (Cricket ka Karma Yuddha )

In a weeks time the most anticipated carnival in cricket (globalization of cricket T20) is all set to kick off in Capetown . I would like to make some predictions (my version of how things should shape up this season) lets see how much of it, actually is true after the tournament.
Among the eight IPL teams I feel after the initial round robin matches the table should figure as below (one being the team having won the maximum points i.e. the strongest):
1) Bangalore Royal Challengers
2) Chennai Super Kings
3) Mumbai Indians
4) Delhi Daredevils
5) Rajasthan Royals
6) Kolkata Knight Riders
7) Deccan Chargers
8) Punjab Kings XI
Well obviously this is just a prediction, Royal Challengers on paper is the strongest team for IPL2 lets see how the big shots gel together, at the same time if some one like Adam Gilchrist has an extraordinary run during the tournament we could see Chargers heading the table.
I think it is safe to say that season 1 had some star players(match winning players) in the form of Swapnil Asnodkar, Yousuf Pathan, Shaun Marsh .I would like to rate the players whowm I feel would really make an impact in the tournament.
Jesse Ryder (BRC) :

Undoubtedly the most anticipated player in this season of IPL. I some times wonder if the auction would have taken place after the Indian tour of NZL Ryder would be definitely worth the same price tag as team mate KP. Without any question this big hitter playing for the entire tournament would be a real blast to watch and perhaps he may be responsible for BRC's victories (this is one of the reason I have rated Royal Challengers first)
Robbin Uthappa (BRC)

Once a prominent member of Dhoni’s T20 and ODI eleven. However after a string of poor performance he was asked to go into the domestic circuit to find form. Very recently in the Challengers trophy he showed what a class player he is, by scoring three centuries in four matches. He has had a wonderful domestic season last year, has been named in the World T20 playing team and would be desperate to get into the playing eleven by the virtue of some powerful performances at IPL 2.
Rohit Sharma (DC)

After some really poor performance in T20’s and ODI’s in NZ this young cricketer would definitely like to show what his cricketing skills are worth so as to push himself back into Dhoni’s playing XI at T20 world cup and beyond
Brendon McCullum(KKR)

His availability for the entire season would mean a real boost for KKR to claim the top of the table in IPL2. In the Indian tour of NZL , we all saw how much of a devastating batsman he is and how well he is able to play a responsible innings. However one important character we r unable to find in watching his three years of cricketing life is consistency.
Brad Hodge(KKR) :

I always considered, Australian national selectors and Ricky Ponting have been very unfair to Brad Hodge. If you see his domestic record in Australia and in England you can easily confirm how good of a player he is in any form of the game. With almost little chance to make into the national team now, Brad would be determined to make the most of his time for KKR, in order to have his cricketing career something to remember by.
Albie Morkel (CSK):

Last year his performance at IPL earned him a central contract with Cricket South Africa and with the SA selectors showing faith in giving him a chance to make his debut in the third test against the aussies, Albie would be determined to not let them, his fans in SA and India down. I feel he would have a real impact in CSK’s journey this year both as a result of his bowling and bating.
Grahame Smith (RR)

Truly I donot need to write anything about this exceptional batsman, his cricketing skills(in all forms of the game) is truly God send . With Shane Watson called for national duties a lot would lie on Smith’s shoulders from the RR fans and Warne.
Gautam Ghambhir (DD)

Recently Indian and DD fellow opener Viru compared Gauti to the great Gavaskar. I strongly disagree. Gauti not only has the perseverance and cricketing skills of the legend but is also capable of accelerating his game, to the blitzkrieg pace of team mate Viru when the situation demands. Gauti is a consistent player and I feel even if he plays at the same level as he did consistently these last one and half years we would be in for a treat. I always considered Gautam Gambhir to be an enigmatic cricketer, as time passes we get to see more and more different forms of this master blasters batting!!
I would love to hear your suggestion about who all do u guys feel would, "IPL ko HILA ke Rakh DeGA"

Finally a great series to watch whose central theme is medicine. A extremely well researched series, exceptional direction and impeccable acting on the part of the cast.
The series HOUSE M.D. basically circles around the central protagonist Dr. Gregory House, a cynical medical genius, who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH).
The startling cases that the team handles , the level of thinking which the team puts into the prognosis of each of the cases and the exceptional and uncanny genius of Dr.House is unparalleled and would certainly make one jealous of his/her friends attending med-school. I must point out that during the 2007–08 United States television season, the series was the most-watched scripted program on TV and the third-most-watched program overall, behind American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
The show has already completed four season with overwhelming response and reports are in that there would be a spin-off to the series serving as the fifth (season). Before this blog entry reminisces a wikipedia entry for the series I must sign off but before that I must re-iterate that there is tremendous amount of research put into each of the episodes of this series and is un-arguably one of the best TV series I have caught up in the idiot-box.

My life ahead-Purpose of living
Most feasible option job in an IT company, do coding work for an unknown customer in an entirely different part of the world(getting mentally and physically outsourced doing so) ,without having any clues why are asked to do the job in the first place ,at the same time enjoying the mellifluous lifestyle and feeding yourself with a lot from McDonalds ,the KFC and the Nirulas until one fine morning after five years you realize how screwed up your life has become and you get so pissed off that you resort to self-cannibalism. (Damn!!! That was a long sentence......But I dare you to find any mistakes in it :P)
If you ask me I would be more interested in a career that would have a viciously bumpy road ahead ,a career in which what you do makes at least some sense. I would love to pursue a career in which when you start it you are in a state of quandary and your progress is determined by how you perceive a real situation/phenomena(it may be the most difficult of all) and modifications you can do to make it more meaningful to humanity. I mean come on, if you have just this one life on Earth would'nt it be better you leave a permanent mark in this world ,and what better would it be that with the work that you do you are able to achieve this.
I would like to express my feelings during my last couple months internship period where I experienced physics at the highest level in the world. I am never saying here that just because I my work dealt with physics ,I liked it. Anywho,I was given a project that was very interesting , a very straight forward one, yest a project, that had real pragmatic scence in modern day cutting edge technology .To start up with the project I had to do some serious quantum mechanical stuff. Yes being an IIT graduate you are expected to know the subject but (IIT motto-"U mug the hell out of the course and you get an S in the course" , this is what I feel to be utterly ROTTEN in the IIT system, but thts altogether a different story), seriously despite getting an A in the subject in the first year when I picked up the book it was totally Hebrew to me. It was like hell for me in a foreign land!!!!
Slowly and steadily I began to understand the subject by actually visualizing and understanding how the theoretical improbable erudite phenomena can be applied to my problem. Things really began to ease out . As Richard Feynman pointed out there is really a pleasure of finding things out.
Gradually when I went on with my project everyday would be a new challenge for me. My progress in my work each day would be halted by a set of staunch predicaments and I would really have to crack my head to sprint through these obstacles, so that end of the day leave a happy man boosted with self confidence. But that very night after dinner over the ice-cream jar suddenly feeling the uneasiness in the stomach realizing a new set of problems that would hinder the progress of my project that I would have to think of the next day. However with each passing day traveling home ruminating while watching the majestic Dublin Bay I would get the feeling that despite all the frictions I am making a progress in my work.
At the end of it all when you get the desired result(it would not only make your boss happy), the happiness within, the inner conscious that exults with exhuberence that Damn it YES!!!!!!!!! all those days of hard work and uncertainty have finally paid off. It is the thinking sessions that I had with my bosses as well as my colleagues that I would really cherish.
Personally after all this I felt that despite knowing very less than the people around me , being amongst the most erudite people of all in the field as a result of my zeal to work and do something new I was able to make a small yet significant contribution in the work which they did.
Now this is the type of work that I would be really interested in where in my inputs, the way I perceive the project, my thinking would me to progress ahead in my career and would be the very reason my co-workers as well as my superiors would revere me.
Well this is what I think about how I would like to mould my life ....Your suggestions would be really invited in this blog entry........Do tell me what you think......Until next time ......Cheers !!

Summer in Dublin
To be frank I had a blast at Dublin pretty much balancing physics, cappuccino 3 times a day from Starbucks coffee, tennis, Euro 2008 and of course alcohol. After all I was in a city known among all genres for its night life (which is kind of Ironic considering Dublin receives just 5 hours of night time during the summers). Not to mention I met some wonderful people there they really rocked.
Anywho it seems kind of wierd that I am writting all this considering no one reads this blog :-p (worst smiley any1 ever made).
Probably the thing I was the most amazedat was the extremely fat paycheck that made my bank accountquite burdonesome at the end of two months. Damn!!! the Irish have real money!!!! Quite frankly I could easily do away with (yet share adequate) with the most prodigal(yes, I coined this word) lifestyle as possible with half that amount. Guess that is financial freedon (a really extreme one).
Thats the way Research is all about, prbly. Well I know Researchers especially physicists are branded as the most geeky, havin big Grey hair, bearded. But seriously, gone are those days of einstienism and newtonism[not in terms of physics, sorry this is not balsphemy ]. To be frank researchers are real smart people living and njoying their life to the fullest.
But, with all this work becomes of primal importance. In my case to be honest the results that I obtained from my work were'nt that futile and lets see probably in a few months maybe the work which I did in Dublin may shape up my career!!!!
At the end of my internship yes I could proudly say that I am not a lonely cockroach in a drain (the feeling which I get spending endless days in my hostel room during term) but be really be worth of some day!!!!!

Safety Cement
Conventional concrete suffers from a number of problems such as low tensile strength and a tendency to shrink as it sets. It is also brittle, which makes it liable to fail suddenly.
Recently a team from Univ of Florida have discovered a glue that binds concrete mix tightly.
The glue, a form of polyvinyl acetate, ensures that any cracks propagate slowly, making the concrete far more ductile ??? like a metal ??? so that it fails more slowly. That should give more time to take action when a concrete structure starts to crack. The additive also reduces the amount of shrinkage that concrete undergoes when it dries.

Chronicles of End Sem Preparations
Their scheduled , so jam packed, so as to punish us for all of our sins.
Practical files to be completed, Assignments to be submitted,
As a friend rightly points out, its time to Man up and face the situation and beat it.
I may be perceived as a whining kid not wantin' to study,
A course that thoroughly focuses on rheology of Slurry.
On top of that this oppressive heat,
Dear, Mother Nature Plz a cool breeze, Ah!! it feels so sweet.
And then comes the holidays , the best part of it all.
And the new semester doesn't start till the next fall.
Sweet nib lets!!!!!!! Jst realized this HUGE energy barrier to cross
I dont wanna study!!!!!!!!!I dont wanna study!!!!!!!!!I dont wanna study!!!!!!!!!
I dont wanna study!!!!!!!!!I dont wanna study!!!!!!!!!I dont wanna study!!!!!!!!!
PS: I got so dedicated to procrastinate my preparation for the exams that I decided to write a new blog entry. Koi bhi aur kaam de do wo bhi kar lunga.

The Born Conspiracy - Has US being deluding the world for oil

I have this weird notion that is going on in present world.. True its very wierd but if even 1 % of it may be true it will show light to a bone chillin' reality !!!!!!...Lets read on :
Petroleum or in common language oil is perhaps the major jewel that is mandatory for the survival of human civilization in the current world. Probably 85 % of the gross energy needs of humans are met by oil. In any present day country its wealth, economy and the condition of its people depends on the amount of oil that it has in its possession.
One question I would like to put forward..”Which country in the world posses the maximum petroleum reserves. Many would say the answer to be some oil rich country from the Gulf. Sorry to disappoint, but the maximum oil deposits is possessed by a “NAÏVE” country by the name of United States of America.
Well this country has till now spent only 1 % of its oil reserves and thrives on the exodus of oil imports from the Gulf countries. Why?
Simple reason ; as with the rate at which the Arab world is exploiting (by mostly exports) its resources are bound to last for another 5-6 decades before permanently desiccating, and only after that the states would start using their own oil reserves.
It may be said that America can do anything for oil; well if so, then what I am about to share may be true.
Just imagine, Al Qaida and any form of Jihadi Terrorism never existed ,US’s CIA never funded Osama to go against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in 1979 ,US never helped Saddam Hussien in the Iraq-Iran conflict of the 1980’s, Israel the asian southpaw of Unites States from the very beginning got contempted with their territory and recognized Palestine as a state (middle east conflict never happened).
Let us consider this kind of a scenario existed in the present time, then inevitably the all the Gulf countries would have splendid economies, would boast of boasts of paradises like Dubai. Then the rich countries like India and China in order to support the mammoth population would require voluminous quantity of oil. Due to the duo being rich (their economy growing at unprecedented rate) they would have the liquidity to buy a large flux of oil from the Gulf nation. Thus both would be benefited bilaterally, the gulf countries’ economy would be boosted and the two power hungry beasts could get their quota of supper. Everybody would be happy ……well exactly no…one won’t be that amused by that our good old buddy USA.
If the above would happen the USA’s share of oil from the gulf would deplete (even though it’s economy would be strong it would not be able to afford the oil as it would’nt increase as that of the Asian mights ) and it would have to start using its own reserves , much sooner than it ever anticipated.
What if US, the smart Alex thought of all this before hand. Would’nt it be better for the US to go ahead and grab hold of these oil producing countries in the name of eliminating terrorism. What if Al Qaida is one of those CIA funded agencies to propagate the drama?..We have seen a number of conspiracy theories including the one about the American agencies responsible for the 9/11 attack. What if Osama is still a CIA agent doing frontline intelligence work for the US government. What if all these conspiracies became too hot to handle for Saddam Hussein and he wanted to back out and in doing so he was subsequently eliminated? How is it that Osama is roaming around Scott free in a region where there are coalition troops every 10 kilometers where as Saddam or any of the top Taliban leaders could not do so?
May be the probability of this kind of conspiracy flushed down the drain by experts is 99.999%. But what if in the near future this 0.001 % probability comes haunting in our face that America all the while has being deluding the entire world.
في بسم الله (In the name of GOD)

Perhaps one of the best movies I have ever seen from all genres. It is true that terrorists are muslims but you can never(and no body has the right to)brand a random muslim as a terrorist. Its high time that this basic point is proved to western masses and what better to do that than by this movie Khuda ke Liye. This movie also overtly describes the severe conservative nature of muslim society and how especially muslim women come under wrath of that and how all that is justified "In the name of GOD" .Hats off to Shoaib Mansoor !!!!! Kudos to Shaan for his brilliant acting.
Easily a movie of a lifetime !!!!!!!!!

Team India

See there is one disadvantage in having a young Indian Team. This pic was taken when a naive fan was taking an autograph from our own Dhoni sahab during the recent felicitation at Feroz shah Kotla after Team India's win in Australia.
Notice Uthappa, Karthik and Yuvi.........
Miley Cyrus - What a teen sensation !!!!!!

Imagine having an annual earning of US$3.5 million. Imagine being the face of teen pop music recognized across the globe. Imagine having a Television show describing your life to the most intricate detail and that too the show being one of the most popular one world wide. Imagine having all these "Khwahishe" while you were still just a petite 15 year old girl.
Bamboozled!!!!!!
Perhaps most of you all might have recognized whom I am talkin' about. Oh! Hell yeah ...I am talking about the 15 year old teen sensation from Tennessee Miley Ray Cyrus.
Daughter of erstwhile pop artist Billy Ray Cyrus, was given this name as she kept on smiling in he childhood (Now isn't that cute!!!!!).
Miley Cyrus/ Hannah Montanna 's first album "Best of Both world" hit bill boards both in UK and US. If that wasn't enough her for a 15 year old girl ,television series Hanna Montanna which describes about her life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by herself) and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana at night, concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family is an Emmy award nominated .
I was just reading about this girl when I found out that in one of her concerts at Brigham Young university there were about 58,000 tickets sold in just ten minutes.
I personally think what this girl has achieved what no one else has on this planet fame ,Popularity, Money, Friends, Love ..... What does one require to achieve a feat like her?...That's for us to ponder .....i guess ......May be till eternity...........

Indian Idol Sucks-More than Vacuum Cleaner!!!!

Indian Idol Sucks-More than Vacuum Cleaner

Disclaimer: No animals were harmed during the writing of any content found here (some people might get harmed after reading). May contain traces of nuts.
It’s third year in our engineering tenure, finally we get single rooms and the extra element of privacy which al of us yearned the last two years. Naturally most of us were confined to our respective rooms our faces glued to our personal laptop screens as if all of us were getting a chance to watch our respective gf’s.
One evening we were at LC (that is miles away from our hostel Karma) having our evening “Nashtha” (We often go there) ; my two friends Jitendra ,Rawat and myself. We are returning from LC after having “Nastha” and were just about 500 meters from our hostel totally exhausted (due to the humid heat and the fact that we have walked more than two miles) when suddenly Rawat gets a phone call which ends in about 20 seconds (now this is very unusal) he murmers something to Jitendra and they both start running wildly. I thought we were cased by dogs so I too start running without looking back .In the hostel I realize that Rawat got a phone call about the latest episode of Indian Idol and that made them run quite similar to pace of a cheetah !
In weekdays when we have an off lecture or during breaks we earlier use to sit under a tree outside our department on stationery bikes discussing about “The new Babe in college” or how to tease a girl classmate .But now when the finals of Indian Idol 3 are round about the corner we are at the same place discussing about “Surrs” , “Taal” and “Raghas”…Uhhgg!@#$?? Sorry I am unable to digest all that.
Well I personally think that Indian Idol Suxx –More than Vacuum cleaner. It’s more of a Hype and Hysteria than a talent show .I think the only people who benefit out of this is Sony Entertainment Television ,Sponsors and Mobile service providers (by the loads of SMS that the Indian Idol fans send to vote their idols) and the people who are robbed and raped are we the public.
Like last year the Indian Idol 2 finals resulted in a full scale war between “Bikaner and Hyderbad” ,”North and South” and “Myself against Indian Idol fans”. All would agree to me that Indian Idol is an exact stolen version of American Idol. And also the fact that Karunya was a better singer than Sandeep .Well SMS polls, the basic way of selecting the idols in both the American and the Indian version does’nt quite work well in India.
You see in America all its citizens are well versed with English .But this ain’t the case in India .People from the north watch the stupid reality show more than those of south simply because they aren’t well versed with the language .More over there is no restrictions in the number of SMS’s one can send. Thus, I feel Karunya deserved to be the Indian Idol than Sandeep.
Nm……I’m being one of em’
Well our branch the ceramic Third year, possesses quite awesome talent (in terms of singing) the likes of Anand (We will rock you) ,Abhishiek (Linkin Park’s Numb), Rawat (Pathshala),Asav (Don’t need to specify the songs) ,Jitendra (Bluffmaster song) .Some have even recorded their singing talent and are just waiting to email it to the leading music producers of India (No need to specify the name rite?).Well when we are at bathroom it’s a common tradition for us to sing (obviously in this no audience is allowed like Indian Idol). I personally believe that our “Bathroom Idol” is a million times better than Indian Idol. (I’m not sayin’ this sarcastically).
With every year the hype goes on becoming worse. When I see my dear friends watching the program I notice them smiling wanting to be in the position of the idols .Doing extensive research in the lifes of Karunya and Sandeep from the net.
Well they have to be reminded of living specie named “Girls”.
Well again I would like to assert that I am not against the Indian Idol singers, infact “ they rock!!” .I’m simply against the unnecessary hype over the show. Perhaps the “enthu “ which one spends on watching and discussing these Indian Idols could be used more productively in course work or just reading the newspaper (Keeping yourself engrossed and aware with current events) instead it being wasted in watching futile Indian Idol shows.
Why you are right when you often think your girlfriend is a bitch!!!

Why you are right when you often think your girlfriend is a bitch!!!
Well the are some of the points that I think what modern day Indian love is all about
Ø Have to go out on a date with your girlfriend almost daily whether you like it or not. (Please don’t think I am crazy .Come on dating (the same girl) initially is adventurous but with time it becomes mundane to the core!) .
Ø On every date it is as if it were a universal axiom that the “Guy has to bear the burden of all the expenditure” .Well come on in every affair not only does the guy love the gal but it is also vice versa! (Guy’s in every case, in front of a girl do not want to be thrifty all the time right!).
Ø A guy has to deliberately listen to all the jokes told by the counterpart (All of which will be the worst PJ’s you could possibly think of).
Ø Have to bear the million times a day frequency of tantrums thrown by your girl, you have no other alternatives.
Ø You go to a crowded place, say a mall with your girlfriend .She is alongside you, held close to you. You are in on “cloud nine” –“What else can possibly go wrong” is what you are thinking……….Two girls happen to cross your path .I happen to glance at them (“Yaar as a result of natural reaction Of course!”)
Your girl looks at you and says”Oh! You don’t love me any more .You bloody pervert.”
You are left nothing but aghast.
Ø You are in an argument with your girl you have to keep shut during the entire tenure of the torturous ordeal and let her yell loud at you. If you attempt even the slightest on your part to defend yourself (Obviously your point is most of the time sensible most of the time) your girl realizes she is arguing bullshit and starts crying out loudly.
Hell! Now you feel you are screwed. You feel as if you are in an Armageddon type situation .You desperately need to hug her ,to clam her down .Probably have to take her to the ice cream parlor and get her the most expensive ice cream or promise to get her a new dress the next day. You have to crack your brains out so as to describe how much you love her. (You could do much better in academics if you work the same amount of you head)
Ø Probably the most difficult situation to deal with is when your girl says “We need to TALK “.All will agree on the fact that the timing of this kind of situation comes at the most unexpected time.
Ø When you on the verge of break off with your girlfriend (Doesn’t matter how long your relationship might have lasted) ,your girl will show an extremely unpredictive behavior and will strive hard so as to make the rest of your life as miserable as possible.
Guys be frank .You at least face some of these problems with your girl right? Well if you do not face I guess you are very lucky .May be real true love is written in your fate .Maybe she is the girl of your life-Your Soulmate.
After all we are Indians

After all we are Indians
I basically write this blog after Indian shocking first round exit from the ever important cricket world cup 2007 (only thing i'm presenting it here after a long time) .Team India after all its hype failed to beat even a single test playing nation at the center stage. Well if you ask me they exhibited the same mistakes that an average Indian citizen does and which is the only factor responsible India not being a developed nation in this present world (leave aside the general reasons that we pose for i.e. Bribery and corruption among top notch officials in the government).
Once again take the example of the cricket world cup, just because we are a country of a billion cricket viewers and the fact that the Indian team had the best so called “on paper “wasn’t going to give us a direct entry to the super eight stage .Even the best of the best have to prove themselves in each and every competition that they face .Indian team’s debacle in CWC 2007 should be taken as an excellent example of famous Charles Darwin’s theory of the survival of the fittest.
Life is such that one cannot afford to relax after a success cause if he/she does so failure will be in his door step.
Also I have seen even educated Indians trying to stay away from modernization, western civilization .Well I ask a question why look at every thing the bad way .I mean obviously the bad things like drugs, alcohol etc ought to be avoided but should the good thing be too (Industrialization, Improved knowledge, sports, better educations, urbanizations, developments of global hubs, SEZs)

What a life!!!What an anomaly
Most of the time in a year I find myself in 2m*6m room with my computer and a few books. Mess food that any layman would puke the instant having the first bite .One cannot get an empty bathroom to answer nature’s call in the morning and on top of that we have to form a huge queue to do the morning activity. Department that is millions of light years away were we have to go four times a day (we come back during lunch) walking .Failing to keep a good attendance in class one can be in serious academic trouble (year backs). Winters go with us students shivering under our blankets 24/7 with no provision of heaters or even warm bathing waters. The solace that one would get feeling cool breeze of an air conditioner on a humid summer day ,I seem to have a memory lapse of how it be.
And the list doesn’t end there .Ever decreasing (very important )grade points with each passing semester and inability to make future plans tends to make one suicidical. Every passing semester ends with us students severely studying for the end semester examinations not even getting a single spare second even to have three daily meals .(Of course the only time we study in a semester is this time ) .Adding to this is nostalgia of childhood days and homesickness .Not to mention the serious lack of sleep among us .
I just cannot remember the last time I had a chill out in a vacation away or in a resort.
Well all this is my side of the story or an average IITans life .I happened to be with some of my school friends during my endsems break .They were not fortunate (I think the word fortunate is not apt here considering what I wrote above )enough to clear IIT-JEE exams and neither did they fare well in other state engineering examinations. But being born with a golden spoon they got admissions in private engineering colleges of Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore at the expense of huge sums of money .When I talk to them I feel shocked and fuel with jealousy to know about their flamboyant lifestyle. Daily buzzing the streets of their corresponding metros high speed in their Karismas or CBZ’s .Hanging out almost daily in pubs and nightclubs .Living in king size rooms fully accommodated with personal bathrooms ,air conditioners to chill in summers and heaters to defreeze during the winters .Not to mention their severe consumption of tobacco ,alcohol and even drugs.
Well these are my views and I donot feel that the 7000 odd people who join the IIT’s ,IT-BHU and ISM-Dhanbad or some of the NIT’s each year wouldn’t consider I am wrong.
I just cannot imagine the fact that an equally frustrated peer group that is the only thing one as an individual had can mitigate our severely monotonous lives .
One is often lured by elders (constituting mainly parents and professors) that the hardships the one faces in undergraduate engineering studies will one day pay in exchange of a comfortable life in distant future ,but I ask the question what about this life now ???????.....
